Chinese Armorial Porcelain. Volume I
Par David Sanctuary Howard
Parution: 1974
The largest part of the book consists of a dictionary of armorial porcelain services painted in China for the British market between 1695 and 1820. Nearly 2,000 services are illustrated by style in chronological order, the arms blazoned and the families described. There are a total of 2,900 services recorded. Extensive analyses of the ware, dated using hallmarks, detail the changes in style during the period. The book also covers the manufacture in 18th century China, its rapid rise in value in the 20th century and many other aspects of interest to the collector
