Exhibition catalogue; Fourty fine pieces of Chinese porcelain and works of art from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries are described in full detail. These pieces include an unusual kraak bowl with a Persian inscription on the interior rim, a rare pear-shaped bottle with the inscription “Jorge Alvares had this made in the year 1552”, and a circular box painted in the famille verte palette with a continuous landscape of fortified buildings, sailing ships and European figures – the only other known example is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
